No real in-depth combat. The "hardest" creature in the game, the t rex can be killed by taking off it's launcher weapons. The big Bird is easily muted and the mole is sniped at a range.

Played through it twice. The only thing that bothered me honestly was the facial expressions of the characters.

Story was decent but predictable, graphics were amazing as far as consoles go, the gameplay was solid and hunting aspect was enjoyable.

9/10 for me. Thoroughly enjoyed and I think a must play for PS4 owners.

Well, the water effects in HZD are pretty bad compared to the rest of the graphics. And I didn't play it, but from what I've seen it's biggest issue is bad lipsyncing during some conversations. Some of the conversation animations look a little rough at times, too.

For games like this, they use special dialogue / conversation editors that allow them to create the hours and hours of cut-scene like conversations easily with premade animations and procedurally generated lipsyncing, all in a timeline-editor program

It's a very good game, but not much more. Should've had a larger focus on tracking, hunting, scavenging, looting establishments from long-gone civilization, crafting makeshift weapons...

Sequel will hopefully pick up. It's fairly obvious that showing off the engine was priority number one, and it sure as hell is a pretty game.

The ambition within the development of the game was unbalanced.

The gameplay aspect of the game, while not terrible, was not on par with the effort poured in the setting and the visuals.

So the game is visually very appealing and presents spectacular shots in most cases, but the abstract structure of the game ends up feeling derivative in a genre that was already showing signs of exhaustion.

That would be pretty awesome.

My problems with the game? Weird pacing and a few half-backed mechanics. They aren't enough to sink the game. Its a very good game that could've been amazing. At times it is very compelling to play through but it often hits these lulls where it starts to feel like a chore.

Some fights, and thus moving across some areas, are really kinda obnoxious if you aren't very well prepared for it. But being prepared may mean farming the very enemies that are making life difficult for you. So you feel stuck. Then you get an upgrade and you find you don't really care about the farming and you are basically using the same two or three items for 5 or 6 hours.

Melee combat is imprecise. Enemies randomly block and get huge iframes making melee stupid and deadly to you at times.

You have to jump everywhere. If it wasn't pre-built climbing you just have to hope the weird jump physics work. If you get knocked off a small ledge you can be in big trouble cause enemies just mob you and you can't jump back up cause its waist high and she won't grab onto it.

Also, enjoy long long runs across the map. It's a beautiful map but my heart drops when I check my fast travel and see its still a long long run.

Needs smell-o-vision, I'd love to get a big whiff of Aloy after a long hot day. I imagine just stuffing my face into her sweaty ass and licking her body from head to toe. Stick a few fingers in her holes making her moan like the bad girl she is.

There should be named monsters and named loot and secret monsters things like that. I'd love secret high level lairs where you have to hunt monsters and lure them out and fight them across the map.
