It's not even a matter of forgetting what PS2 games looked like at this point. The graphics in this shot look straight-up contemporary, probably benefiting from the fact that nothing is shown up-close except the grass, which is clearly one of the game's strengths. Compression aside, this may as well be as good as video games have ever looked.

I agree about the artstyle for the characters, but the world design looked fine. However, I completely disagree about having a HD remake, I hate how common remakes have become and XC isn't even that dated yet.

I think that the old hardware in the case of the wii and the wiiu being a blunder of a console is a deterrent for a lot of people. I do think its likely the switch will get ports or at least virtual console versions for a number of their good games anyway
