Wow, I'm surprised. I wonder how the pawn system will work in this version. Originally they said no to PC version, due to pawn system. With Steam it was obvious it is easily doable. Now with gog it makes me interested. Galaxy?

The RPG elements are shallow and the game is full of flaws, but it also has some very fun and unique elements which make it worth playing
For example, the pawn system, grappling mechanics and surprisingly deep character creation are the only ones of its kind
Also, BBI level and enemy designs are top tier

The balance of flaws and fantastic elements proves that the devs weren't afraid of experimenting
It reminds me of the golden age of video games and is a great thing

Looking forward to giving it another shot when it drops on PS4. I played vanilla DD quite a bit when it came out, but couldn't really get into it. Had some cool mechanics, I liked the grappling stuff, but a lot of enemies felt a bit too damage spongy. And I recall having a very frustrating battle against a horny ogre who kept stealing my women.

For the people that haven't played it and want to try it out.

Dragons Dogma has a lot going for itself. Navigation and platforming is nice and responsive, combat is fast and fluid, climbing enemies is great, character creation is excellent.
But if you want to play the game as an action game first and foremost with rpg elements tacked on, the game ruins itself by how damage, health and leveling and gear is handled.
Attacking high level enemies is impossible or incredibly tedious, while leveling just once or twice/changing gear can immediately quadruple your damage. After a short while killing said boss will be basically trivial.

The way health items are dealt with in the game, tanking shit with a load of potions will remove any danger in the game. Press select when you're almost dead and heal. Don't even have to plan an estus chug so to speak and mage strategic choices.

You would have to go out of your way and try really hard to obtain him. The main romances have quests which built affinity easily, but characters like the clown are harder because you can only bring them items and shit.
