>In what could be a severe case of irony overload, anti-piracy company Denuvo is being accused of using unlicensed software to protect its infamous anti-piracy tool. A developer of VMProtect, software which itself protects against reverse engineering and cracking, says that Denuvo has been using the product without obtaining the necessary permission.

So will anything actually come out of this

If anything this proves that DRM isn't about stopping piracy at all

This is why we call it "Digital Restrictions Manager"
>>

Denuvo's now being listed as malware by anti-virus vendors, and there's talks with Valve to remove all Denuvo-protected games from Steam.
>>
>>379166350
uh, no, it's rights management. as in, people who pirate have no right to use the product.

they are actually worse than pirates, don't do what i do but do what i say
>>
>>379167424
It's better than 90% of what's out there. And denuvo is actually getting. So either they will have to come up with some kind of denuvo protection which doesn't use vmware or remove denuvo from game or remove denuvo games from steam. Because the owner of vmware can sue valve too for selling a modified version of their licensed software. This is not a matter of source this is a matter of common sense

...? getting a good laugh at some lone faggot making baseless accusations? getting a kick out of butthurt pirates?

Also no pirate is butthurt anymore. Games are getting cracked within weeks of release. Only worthwhile game that hasn't been cracked yet is dishonored 2

Old news, they already made an agreement (aka $$$) so there won't be any lawsuit and you won't hear about this ever again

Nice bait thread though
>>
>>379168784
What's wrong with Dishonored 2? Even if you think its worse than the 1rst one, its worth a play-through.
>>
>>379169180
>its worth a play-through.
sure, if you've got shit taste
>>
>>379169647
But what's shit about it? I enjoyed the game, it has its flaws but I think the pros outweigh the cons, the wide number of abilities and gadgets, the multiple play-styles, the (mostly) creatively done levels, the unique and wide range of uses for your abilities/gadgets. I honestly think the worst part of the game might have just been the performance and that the story drops a beat compared to DH1.
