Most of it is fine. Japanese dialogue is usually blander and drier than a toast sandwich, so some rewrites do help. The main problem is when he changes the names of things for personal or arbitrary reasons, like Knight -> Paladin or Fire/Fira/Firaga -> Fire 1/2/3. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if PLD got potency nerfs across the board to be more in line with the other tanks at some point between the media event build and SB's launch.

The insane number of differences between the JP and EN tooltips, changes that aren't reflected in tooltips in either language but were clearly present in the footage from the event, etc, are all pretty indicative of those builds being made in the middle of some pretty big, sweeping changes to overall class balance.

The thing is though, you don't actually have to do any additional casting to outDPS 3.0 SCH. Simply replacing the GCDs you spent refreshing DoTs with Broil IIs will give you higher potency/minute. The general complaint is not that SCH and WHM are too weak, but that AST is too strong. Which is completely true. AST will be fucking absurd if it goes live with the potencies shown in the media tour. If they knock AST down a peg or ten, SCH's position is still fine. There is literally no reason to stay low on MP because you can only really hold 3 DA at the same time. At most you'll be 2 DA (280 potency) behind a DRK that stays low on MP, and you can spend that MP 2 combos in a row to catch up.
