There was a green ball that jumped from screen to screen. You were supposed to chain combos with the character holding the energy ball to gain damage buffs. There were enemies that could only be defeated following this mechanic too.

TWEWY was the only game that used every single DS feature, and they were used in a very clever way.

Speaking about the sequel, I'm still hoping for one, but back in the day I didn't want square to release half-assed fanbait and make TWEWY the next Kingdom Hearts. I think people still talking about this game after all these years shows how good it is.

What I did was basically either let the CPU go auto or bash the controls and hope for a combo.

You'd do well to follow the puck. Just keeping it alive doubles your damage output. Remember that dragging Neku quickly gives him i-frames, so the bottom screen is safer to ignore than it seems.
