Dark Souls as a series is great and I loved 1 and 3 (2 was alright), but the formula is starting to get stale for sure. Give it 5-10 years and I'd love to play a Dark Souls 4. Right now I really don't care to.

DaS3 is an oversimplified mess that polished up its superficial qualities but left attention to detail by the side of the road. It is the quite possibly the second worst in the series and only a bit above DaS2 depending on whether you value that superficial polish over everything else. That's not to say it's a bad game but the souls series isn't showing any kind of significant upward trend towards improvement.
