Having an optimal composition improves your performance at all levels of play. If you're in a bad group it becomes RELATIVELY less important because there are so many other ways you can improve, but you're ALWAYS going to do better with a better composition, assuming everything else is held equal.

Clearing content comes more down to doing the mechanics than doing your job and the only exception is DPS checks. But the DPS difference between comps is so small that you'd be literally looking at groups who were only missing DPS checks by like, 1 second.

On top of that, it's fallacious to assume that a player who get get a certain amount of potential out of one job, could get the same amount of potential from another. A person who plays MNK optimally is not necessarily going to be able to also play MCH optimally. A person who plays a "bad" job well is worth a lot more than a person who plays a "meta" job poorly.

Haha nope. At current HP values, aspected Helios in Nocturnal stance has between 14 and 16% effectiveness equivalent to that skill and that's just a GCD you can cast without any procs or anything. It's slightly worse than Divine Benis on tanks but if you need to shield tanks you can just use your big dik 600 potency single target shield.

Jolt II is what procs Impactful. It basically just means that you alternate between Jolt II and Impact after the times you don't get a verstone/fire proc.

You also only need to raise your gauges to 80, since Redoublement requiring 30 is a tooltip error, it only requires 25 like Zwerchau.

It's kind of interesting because your rotation changes depending on your procs, which is fairly unique to RDM. Other classes with procs always have them on the oGCD and are basically just "use them when they pop". You still want to use Verfire/stone whenever they proc, but the act of using them also changes your followup.

The main problem with the WoD subplot is that they failed to actually accomplish anything noteworthy before they were defeated, ultimately just ending up as a plot device to get the eyes of Nidhogg into Ilberd's hands, and an expository device to teach us about the parallel worlds.

They were built up as these massively powerful dudes who could one-shot primals and even had the Ascians turning to them for help. But then most of what they did happened off-screen, and they never actually managed to accomplish anything antagonistic except barely wounding Alisaie. If they had actually managed to kill her, or anyone, they'd have been a lot more credible.
