Name the generation number of pic-related
9th gen handheld
It's an 8th gen console, we've been over this...
1. A system can have a successor that belongs in the same gen.
2. A system can have a concurrent variant that belongs in the same gen.
Examples include, but are not limited to, the following:
1st gen: Nintendo Color tv game 6 and its successor the Color tv Game 15
2nd gen: The Atari 2600 and its failed successor, the 5200
3rd gen: The Sega SG-1000 and its successor, the Sega Mark III/Master System
7th gen: Nintendo DS and its successor, the DSi.
8th Gen: Wii U, anf its successor, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and its concurrent Codename Project Scorpio, and PS4 and its concurrent PS4 Pro

It's the current one? Is OP okay?
Seriously, it is not that hard...
>>379147204
√8th
>>379147204
9th gen.
>>379147204
barely 7th desu
>>379147204
Is about as powerful as a GameCube, so 6th
>>379148796
Oh wow, didn't realize that the Gamecube was portable.
>>379148217
Literally fuck no. It's 9th gen.
>>379148796
Oh wow, didn't realize a Gamecube was more powerful than the PS360
>>379148217
You're wrong
>>379149881
Why do you think it has that handle?
>>379150305
Then contest me with evidence, facts, or trends like I did.
>>379150524
There is nothing to contest. Youre just wrong. Women has a babby at 30. Mom and child are two generations. Black women has a babby at 15. Her and the baby are still two separate generations.
>>379150724
Flawed logic. By your terms, that would have made Sega Dreamcast a 5th or 7th gen console.
>>379150948
Then every console generation should be rearanged
>>379150478
kek'd
>>379151204
exactly why your argument is shit and mona is right.
>>379148217
So the PS3 and PS4 are both same gen consoles?
>>379151712
Mona? Mona is dead.
>>379151827
Of course not.
>>379151992
Why?
>>379152026
Because the PS1 is 5th gen, the PS2 is 6th gen, and the ps3 is 7th gen.
Are you guys retarded or something?
>>379152242
And the Wii U is 8th gen and the Switch is a 9th gen console.
NES
SNES
N64
GC
Wii
Wii U
Switch
Looks like Nintendo's 8th generation game console.
>>379147204
8
Wii u was 7.5
>>379152971
>Video game console generations started with Nintendo
The NES was a third generation console
>>379155029
But it was Nintendo's first console. Making it Nintendo's first generation.
Making the SNES their second generation. Since it was the first generation to succeed their first one.
>>379149881
>Oh wow, didn't realize that the Gamecube was portable
It's not, because the Switch is too weak to emulate GameCube games
>>379155414
m8 that's not how it works, if this was the case the xbox one would be a 3rd gen console and the ps4 a 4th gen.
>>379152971
>>379155414
You listed 7 consoles, you're wrong even by your own rules
Try counting again
>>379155682
But the Xbox is Microsoft's first generation console.
To be frank. This whole idea of applying generation labels across the whole industry is pretty silly.
If Mozilla makes Firefox 1.0, and Google makes Chrome 2.0. It doesn't mean that'll Firefox will jump straight to 3.0 for its next version. It'll jump to 2.0 too.
It's pretty ridiculous.
>>379152971
1. Color TV Game Series
2. Famicom
3. NES
4. SNES
5. N64
6. GC
7. Wii
8. Wii U
9. Switch
9th gen handheld, successor to 3DS
>>379156065
it certainly makes sense in the current generation seeing as the xbox and ps4 compete directly with each other. it seems a bit arbitrary back when you had a metric shit ton of consoles to keep track of but for the most part keeping track like this helps keep a tab on when technological advances were made in gaming such as the improving of 3d from gen 6-7 and games going hd from gen 7-8.
>>379147204
8.7

>but for the most part keeping track like this helps keep a tab on when technological advances were made in gaming such as the improving of 3d from gen 6-7 and games going hd from gen 7-8.
That may indeed be the case. But it's still a flawed way to keep track of things, and one can't expect it to keep being clear cut like that. Those are more exceptions than anything else.
