If your going to get into the series, might as well get used to the 3DS controls
>>379145859
Wait for XX on Switch
>>379145859
4U is the only one worth playing beside XX
P3rdHD
- easiest entry. this makes FUdads mad but you shouldn't worry about their fake standards
- easily emulated on PPSSPP
- contains all the improvements of Third gen without water combat
- good monster variety
- Yukumo is A E S T H E T I C and comfy

MHGenerations is probably the better starting point since the sequel is coming out, and your save carries over. Note that you might develop bad habits (like relying on Adept dodges, aerial attacks, etc), and some abilities break the classic flow of MH, but you'll have fun.
For the best all around experience, go with MH4U. There's no need to go further back in the series, as you'll just be missing out on possible weapon types you'd enjoy like the charge blade.
I recommend looking up a beginners guide to get the gist of how the game works. The Gaijinhunter weapon tutorials are great tools for this. There's a lot of information to learn, but once you wrap your head around it you'll see why MH is a popular series.
Happy hunting.

Thanks, I'll be looking into how I can hack my 3ds.

4U or wait for XX Switch Ver.
>>379145859
Freedom unite->3U->4U->XX
That'd be the best order
>>379145859
Best ones are:
>Freedom Unite
>3 Ultimate
>Portable 3rd
>haven't played anything after those
I would say 3U is probably the best experience over all.

this desu
>>379145859
4 maybe
>>379146345
fuck no, once XX comes out on the switch it's only missing out on one awful looking and playing low resolution mountfest
