Let's not get ahead ourselves here, it still does have a bunch of stuff that feels like filler and so many different plotthreads at once that it seems to struggle actually continuing them to a meaningful exstent in a single episode.

The one and ONLY issue i have with the show is the fucking soundstrack. In the first season there's like 3 songs they play over and over and over again and they indicate the mood so you can predict what the scene is going to be based on the music, it's bullshit. Second scene was better and some moments the music shines like in the bar or the black lodge, but fuck that filler music it would've been better if it was silent. Almost dropped the show because of that shit,

He's saying the first two seasons are dated. This season is much more in line with what one might consider to be "good television" from a modern point of view. It's got a very different tone and it ramps up the Lynchisms.

Personally I think it's head and shoulders above the first two seasons so far, but then again I don't have the full historical context for it given that I was born half a decade after it aired.
