It's such a fucking shame what they did to this series, man. Halo 4 sucked ass, but had a modicum of a decent story in there- Halo 5 was more fun to play, but the story was like a fucking Sonic the Hedgehog fan fiction, FUCKIN HORSE SHIT.

Did they do this with Samus? Did they do this with Doomguy? Mario, Sonic, Kirby, Donkey, Sam Fisher? Master Chief is iconic, as long as people buy Halo to play him, Halo will always be around. I will never get this nonsense of playing other characters since you only got to play Chief fully for three games. Even Bungie understood this by Halo 3 and of course if they had any idea what to do next with Halo after Halo 3, chances are Master Chief would have continued being the main character in their games, That's of course if they weren't on contract when making Halo 3 to leave Microsoft forever. 343 now finally realize this as well after Halo 5.

They're not going to be able to salvage this series. I'm guessing they're going to half-ass the campaign, but in a less offensive way now that they're going to dial back in story. I have a feeling that Halo 6 will be akin to MGSV in terms of story.

And also, regardless of what 343 has said you'd be a fool to still trust them.

Halo 6 will still likely have linear missions with bland, unmemorable level design and little-to-no exploration, a campaign that holds your hands and takes away player decision scenes in favor of cinematic garbage, mediocre music that doesn't elevate the atmosphere in perfect harmony like Marty's soundtrack did, boring Prometheans and bad AI.

I do feel Reach didn't deserve as much hate as it deserved. Despite going against what the Fall of Reach novel presented and its weak character screentime and development (I understand that it's a setting driven story, but that's no excuse), I really enjoyed Reach's campaign.

The multiplayer was also fun, but severely damaged due to copy pasted campaign levels, the stupid armor abilities, the removal of power ups and equipment, the removal of the BR and the SMGs, and how the movement speed had been nerfed to promote the sprint mechanic.
