It's amazing how many people will actively set themselves up for disappointment. I'd imagine these very same people will be declaring Death Stranding to be "shit" and Kojima a "traitor" or whathaveyou after their idiotic theories are proven wrong.

The fact is that Kojima has been fired from Konami due to an internal power play, and now must develop a new IP from scratch. And that's often hard as a creator, to have to abandon something you worked so hard to build and expand upon; unable to use any of the lore you've set up ever again.

It is certainly apparent that Kojima is going to continue to be interested in certain things, maybe things similar to what the Metal Gear series is known for, but Death Stranding will necessarily be an independent and totally new IP. I think the term people should be using to describe Death Stranding is 'spiritual successor', because that's what it will likely be, and not 'the real Silent Hills' or 'the real Metal Gear 5'. Because we already had those games, sorta. Go play Resident Evil 7 and Phantom Pain. Those games actually exist.

MGSV, the controversy around it, and Konami have broken my heart so badly. Here's the actual truth hidden in plain sight
>Hideo Kojima and Yoko Taro are the same person
The real Taro died some time after Drakengard 1 (which explains him barely working on 2), and since then Kojima and some jap devs are continuing his work.

Just look at how there's a gap from 2008 (MGS4) and 2010 (Nier 1), with Kojima only working on Peace Walker, a game so basic he barely had to direct. And another gap in 2010 to 2013 (Drakengard 3), in which there were 3 MGS games, 2 were re-releases and the other was Revengeance, a game Kojima barely worked in. Kojima worked as Taro for the creation of Nier (around that time the picture of a bald man holding Nier surfaced, I believe that to be Kojima's misdirection. He went extremely far, even having the blad man present at GDC), but when it was time for Drakengard 3, he already started work on MGSV and had to put time on both games, explaining why D3 suffers from so much technical issues.

You want some more evidence? Just look at how Nier was a niche franchise with barely any support, and it got a sequel announcement out of fucking NOWHERE in E3 2015, the same year that he left Konami and was prolly picked up by Sony. Who's pretty much the face of Platinum? And who could convince Platinum to pick up a niche-dead franchise and make a rather expensive game with it? Just pay attention.

I don't think Kojima is going to work as Yoko Taro again, I think he has something bigger on his mind.
Because for Yoko Taro, his demise hasn't been made public or officialized, for some reason it has all been covered up by his Kojima and friends.
But at the same time, with people continuing his work, you could even say Taro never really died.
You could even say that his Death is Stranding
