well it's not very good but it's better than 14's. i love all the FF fanservice, but since all the FF games are in their own continuities, you don't have as much material to draw from outside of making references. whereas wow has 12 years of being an MMO along with the RTS series and a shit ton of books. it's not high quality but there's a lot of it.

you can make an argument for quality over quantity but i wouldn't agree in this case. like you can run into an enemy in FF14 and say hey, I get that reference. but in WoW you run into one, and can generally count on a good chunk of backstory for the species just from the sheer amount of quests the game has.

Well yes the engine is the main problem and also how inconvenient it was until Yoshi fixed the game but there's also the matter of how unfinished and rushed it was.
The zones are painfully unfinished but if the game didn't have such a shitty engine that it was unsalvageable, they could've improved and filled it out, along with the planned dungeons we'll never see again.

This is true for all servers though. Everyone hangs out in Limsa for easy MB access or whatever the current endgame hub is. There is no reason to be out in the overworld unless you're working through quests or doing hunts, everything is handled through DF.
