FFT had cross-clasing, class leveling requirements to unlock new jobs, jobswitching, level-named spells (Fire 2/Fire 3/etc), and so on

FFXIV was LITERALLY final fantasy tactics until recently. Requiring you to level classes to unlock new clases, but letting you use previously used abilities on your new class to customize the character to your playstyle

P.S: FFT took place in Ivalice, which is where we're going in Stormblood. This game was literally designed to tie into Tactics at some early stage but now it doesn't make since with the game mechanics changing

I don't understand why devs never seem to realize that what keeps a game interesting long term is having the depth and room to always work towards improving yourself. When there's something you can do to get better, then there's always something new to be learning, and that's important in a game you're supposed to dump lots of time into

But for some reason that Just want to hammer that skill ceiling down, which is doubly bad in a game like XIV that was already struggling to find any amount of depth at all; there's already no RPG elements to speak of. The fights are already 100% scripted. -All- the game had was convoluted skills sets that allowed for squeezing out just a few more DPS if you managed to tailor it fight by fight and trim all that fat. Now there's not even that

It got a lower Bane treatment and the english tooltip was fucking wrong, again.
Flare potency will get lowered to 15% with each mobs to a minimum of 30%
So it will go like this 100%>85%>70%>55%>40%>30%
Will bane is

At least Deathflare is still 400 potency across every mob.

I want to get into crafting but i don't want to spend millions of gil on Ironwork set for them. What crafters do i need to focus on to make full ironworks myself. I know i need GMS for rings and stuff. What else?

Well, i'm making a game that's basically a text-version of FFXIV's original design philosophy of being a multiplayer jrpg with playstyle customization, but you'd have to be OKAY with text to try it.

It has a dedicated community of 30 players or so.

*Choose to "fuse" your class with a new class, creating a brand new class, or choose to continue levelling your existing class past its maximum
*Spec your character with traits/masteries/skills that cater to your build and what you're doing with your character
*99% of equipment can be used by any class, the 'ultimate' weapons are class-locked but that's it
*Recruitable NPCs/customizable legions where you can customize your NPC squadrons with class ability combinations even regular players don't regularly have access to for even more fun

Daily reminder that this was the goal Yoshi P. had in mind for all classes coming into SB. Things such as an addition to shoulder tackle, a melee gap closer, that turns it into a knock back thus forcing another GAP that needs to be closed was a good idea to the people balancing this game. We can very clearly see that Yoshi and the team figured out how to properly make a pure damage focused class with the way samurai is turning out yet rather than actually fixing the current damage focused melee they nerfed it, tossed some shitty raid wide buff every 90 seconds on it that doesn't even effect the caster themselves, added ZERO new damaging skills and called it a day. Yes I'm mad, fuck this game.

I mean they're right that Blackest Night ends up being a DPS loss for the MP versus another Dark Arts if you look at everything in a vacuum and make dumb assumptions like that raid buffs don't exist. But it's a loss of literally 10 DPS overall, you get a fucking amazing defensive tool out of it (that will, by itself, probably enable 10x as much DPS as you "lose" by giving healers an extra GCD on basicajlly every use), and the "loss" is really heavily backloaded (it's actually a DPS GAIN in the short term).

The thing is, DoTs deal damage every server tick. Sever ticks are 3 seconds apart, so if you reapply with 3 or more seconds left, you're clipping off one tick of the DoT.
However, if you let the effect fall off completely, you're possibly missing a tick.
If you reapply it before 0 seconds but after 3 seconds remaining, You have an X% chance of missing a tick, where X is the percentage of that 3 seconds left.
So, if you reapply it with 1 second remaining, there is a 33% chance you clipped off a tick. If you reapply it with 0.3 seconds remaining, there is only a 10% chance you missed a tick.

It's been implied that Garlemand more than compensates its lack of magic with magitek. Also, all those things we did, we did not do by ourselves- we had 7 other players (adventurers) helping us. The Scions are trying to avoid all-out war right now so raising a banner and saying FIGHT FOR ALA MHIGO is not an option (yet).

They're both easy. Tank if you want to grab mobs and keep them from killing people, heal if you want to watch HP bars go up. Just keep in mind that people expect you to do as much DPS as you can once you're comfortable in doing your basic job functions well. Most of the content is easy until you get to Aurum Vale (lvl 47+), so just focus on learning how to do your job and react to mechanics.

Don't be the shitty Netflix healer. If you aren't healing, DPS.

It might work if you could play multiple roles simultaneously, but you can't. All that does is lock people into playing certain jobs for absolutely no reason, since it's not like they can play more than 1 job at a time.

The entire stat allocation system is fucking stupid in a game like this because the only stat that matters is the one that gives you the most damage. I expect it to be removed by the next expansion when they finally also get rid of the base class system.

Unless Yoshi says FUCK YOU to everyone now with some sort of new POTD or Diadem drop that gives this out (which I wouldn't be surprised) I feel it will be worth it for a while.
