What ground my gears was the fact they didn't even logically keep it consistent with the lore in the same game. The colony of stranded people (Jacob's dad) should not have had access to ammo clips since they were stranded before the switchover took place.

The main reason was more action and less time in cover. In the lore was said in the codex that the ammo is still infinite but the thermal coils, the device that cools down the weapons needed replacement to improve the cool downs between battles.

I'm about to give you the most honest answer here as someone who finished the game:

It's shit. Not even baiting when I say it's a legitimate 4/10 game. Every quest along with the main quests, except for the 3 fucking missions where you get to make a decision, are just literal MMO tier fetch quests. The sidequests they have you doing make no sense at all given the context

It was the hardest I've EVER forced myself in my life to finish a game.
