Yeah, it was really poorly done. Not to mention Belf race was left without a clear leader for years until Lordemar decided to start acting like one. They could have done a redemption for Kael'thas or just handled the whole thing better. Same goes for the Draenei. They were a very interesting race that was implemented horribly. We got tons of lore about them after the fact and they felt shoehorned at launch. Like they really just added them to give Alliance a big race.

How would you make a defensive matrix ability into warcraft 3?
according to one of the developers adding one would prolong games way too long

So far I made one that starts low and grows as the caster levels, recharging out of combat and a working shield bar.

As well it can be transferred to other allied targets temporarily for a short duration at the cost of depleting the casters own shield

I have hate almost all of Blizzard's writing since vanilla (and vanilla had a lot of problems to), but I swear I'm the only person that thinks Kael'thas' portrayal in TBC was normal.
W3:TFT already showed that he was more than willing to joining with questionable characters in order to provide magic juice for his people, up to and including working for the mother fucking burning legion. Kael'thas literally signed on (along with Illidan) to work for Kil'Jaeden at the end of the Belf campaign.
Why did Kael'thas start working for Illidan in the first place? Because he offered to provide his people with enough mana to sustain them. Are we really surprised that Kael'thas would join with Kil'Jaeden if he was offered an even great source of demon semen, especially when Kil'Jaeden was already coming for Illidan's ass? Kael'thas was always willing to throw aside his morals in order to gain access to a suitable source of magic for his people.
As for the end, well Fel magic is super corrupting and Kael'thas had been through the somewhat traumatizing process of being killed and resurrected. I'm not at all surprised that he was completely bonkers by the time we encountered him at the Magisters Terrace.

Daily reminder that Garithos did nothing wrong and is the true hero of Lordaeron.

Naga or not - the blood elves would betray the alliance for their fel magic, as we saw happened in TFT. He needed reinfocements on the front line, all Kael had to do was guard the island observatory untill help arrived - not join the naga.

As for working with Sylvanas, Garithos had no choice, his army was once defeated, rejecting the proposal would doom them all.
