What would /v/ want in a new Animal Crossing game for the Switch?
Some of my hopes:
>More diverse landscapes for your town
>Better control over who leaves your town
>A (mostly) live sound track similar to that of the Animal Crossing course in MK8
>More villagers in your town
>Your role as mayor expanded
>The ability to kill Sea Bass
Any other ideas?

I was thinking in something like a trip feature, where you can explore others areas like a peak mountain, a cave, a forest, etc...
But the areas shouldn't be too big or it would be annoying
>>379115691
The town shouldn't just be a square. There should be a huge map with varying landscape/climate and your town should start in a small section and slowly expand outwards
>>379115691
Get rid of the 3ds style movement
Gamecube version is the best
>>379115691
I hope they keep the QR codes, this shit was too good
We NEED more villager inter-interactions and dialogues. Makes the town feel more real and fun.
Someone other than the fucking Treehouse doing the localization.
If I wanted a "every villager has the same cookie cutter personality" simulator I'd go outside.

QRs won't return due to a lack of a camera on the switch
There'll most likely be a location in-game that'll allow you to access an online database of different patterns.
Also, you should be able to have more than 10 patterns on you.
Villagers as unique as the ones in the original. Top-down camera and acre system. You know what? Just remake the original, but with all of the new villagers and some fancy new graphics. Real sick of the shitty rolling pin world.
Better friendships with villagers. In my opinion, a villager that I met two days ago shouldn't have the same level of friendliness that a villager I've talked to every day for months has. You should be able to make best friends, rivals, people you talk to for specific hobbies/activities, and other more defined relationship types.
The friendship you make with Sable was one I always hoped they would integrate into other interactions. She starts out initially withdrawn and quiet, but then opens up and is excited to see you visit. Villagers in town will say the same tutorial-esque statements from the moment they meet you to five months later of gameplay when they move away. It's really boring and kills any interest in socializing. Going up to a character I've talked with literally every day of playing for a month and them telling me I should buy a slingshot to shoot items out of the air really ruins any sense that you're making friends/connections.
Otherwise I'd be down for:
>More unique weather like full on storms and heat waves that effect villager activity/things you can catch
>More uses for your house, maybe stuff like the ability to actually cook stuff as a gift to villagers, or using a medicine cabinet to cure bee stings, or using the television to see upcoming weather changes
>More night time activities, towns are basically dead at night and shops are all closed so it sucks

though fun as fuck the games are way to samey and im pretty burnt out on the series
let it sit for a gen and give from other franchises the spot light

They can add whatever they want, as long as there is no romance.
>>379117597
>more rare bugs/fossils/fish the further you go out
Yeah I'd really like it if you could be a bit more exploratory. Also, maybe a not top down perspective? But I'd that might be too much in making it too different from what animal crossing is.

Have it not be another Animal Crossing game. If the next game is gonna happen have it be actually take advantage of how powerful the systems are. The AC series feels like it's just remasters of the N64 game over and over.
>>379119595
They already skipped out on the WiiU
Animal Crossing VR so I can make friends and enjoy coffee with Brewster on saturday nights while I listen to K. K. Slider
>>379119585
This would mean they'd have to make the town much bigger to compensate, otherwise it would feel sparser. Not that I have a problem with a bigger town, but it's something to consider
You know that city section in City Folk, and that shop strip in New Leaf
STOP DOING THAT SHIT
Make the village big. Like twice the size of the GCN map. Add back cliffs.
Every kind of building, shop, or event is in your village. They are all in there. Maybe give the option to move some stuff around like Dark Cloud since there should be a lot more than in the original game.
I prefer a top-down perspective, but I don't hate the rolling world. They at the very least need to add back acres to the town map.
>>379118020
flipnote was a mistake
Hey, AC thread!
Here's progress on my AClike!
I've been working on the farming stuff (which isn't in AC!), and I really liked the glimmer effect when you watered plants in ACNL, so I did something similar
Any questions, ideas and suggestions are welcome
>>379120370
maybe they should add two camera types
one with acres and top down
and one that is regular rolling pin.

Is there any indication that an Animal Crossing game is in developmentother than common sense? Were there any rumblings before New Leaf? I don't want my heart broken next Tuesday.
Needs an option toswitchbetween towns. There's different vehicles in every Animal Crossing and the next one could be a plane, letting you journey to other towns around the world that are still "yours" and lets you meet more villagers.
Perhaps there's themes to each town and "region-specific" animal types based on different parts of Earth. Could give a lot of playtime trying to improve and manage every town, though I wouldn't have more than like 5 of them. One regular town and four "destinations".
>>379121115
new leaf was announced like 2 or 3 years before it was made if my memory serves me right so I'm not expecting one anytime soon.
>>379120942

Have some of them be your friends, other your rivals. Some are avid fishing fans and give you tips on where and when to find the fish species, others give you tips on catching Red's counterfits. Some of them even are just jerks that, if you have a compatible personality, actually becomes your friend...
But if you like having the same character interactions since day one for whatever period of time you play the game, fine by me.
NO MORE MOVING VILLAGERS FOR NO PLAYING EVERY DAY
please

They're already tying voice chat and parental controls to an app. I could see them doing the same for Animal Crossing.
>>379122112
A REAL Animal Crossing
They need to overhaul the NPC interactions honestly. I'd rather fewer more interesting NPCs then a hundred similar ones.
>>379120591
can you please put a smiley face on the blank character model it would make me really happy.
>>379122470

I think more village types would be neat. Have a question about what type of town you want to live in at the beginning and each would be slightly different based on the question. They would have different scenery, season length, and fish/bug appearance rates (with all still being obtainable)
A beach town would have a larger beach area, palm trees, more fish, and a longer summer.
A mountain town would have more cliffs, rocks, and longer winters.
A forest town could have more trees, more bugs, and a longer fall.
A field/grasslands town would have more flowers, more ponds, and a longer spring.
Standard town would be the normal one in the series so far.
>>379120591
Maybe you should have a big world like in the Sims Online and you could place down your village.
>>379115691
Is this screen from one of the games?

That sounds cool. Some more subsets of personality types that have their own thing.
How about a personality type that's like a manically depressed loser who never leaves his/her house and just sits around playing video games, watching let's-plays, and masturbating while they continue to put off working on their own video game, day after day, week after week without even touching it, thinking "I'll get to it later" only to do like a sprite or fail to learn how to code only to give up again until prodding it a couple months later, when they will give up again.
You will never see this villager on holidays, at events, playing games, at a shop, or outside at all. They will only in their own home which will very rarely be unlocked. If you sneak into their putrid sty and talk to them enough, you make become their friend so you can go in their house any time. And when he/she does truly open up and talk to you, he/she isn't a misunderstood soul who just needs a friend, they're gloomy, weird, unstable, controversial, slobby, bitter, and downright rude, although unintentionally.
All of the other personality types warn you not to get involved with that gross and weird personality type, and the more healthy villagers speak about that villager to you with disdain, if the subject were to come up.

That is a thing though. I can't remember what hours exactly, but for the last 15 minutes of the news hour, it has a weather program that shows the next day's weather.

I like to think that the Animal Crossing Plaza was just Nintendo testing the waters with villagers in HD
Then Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival was a quick cash-grab
And now by 2018 they will finally release a proper new Animal Crossing game for the Switch. Maybe a little after the phone game (that was delayed, mind you), to gain awareness?
Let's wait and see.

This. The NES games from the gamecube game was a nice distraction and reason to keep playing for me. It was fun trying to get them.
>>379126150
>arcade place with minigames
That's a brilliant idea. A perfect way to replace the NES games, too. New cabinets should be difficult and rewarding to get for the arcade, though.
>>379127135
>>379126607
Never ever. With the Virtual Console, the NES Classic and the upcoming NESflix, Nintendo will never give those games for free.
>>379127478
That's not what I'm asking for. They could whip up some original games that merely rip off the classics. Even Neopets could do that and they didn't even use pixel graphics.
>>379126150
why people hate cilindric world so much?
>>379127478
They could make it so you could play virtual console games you own within the game. Or as >>379127654 says, make original ones like the two they added in the amiibo update for new leaf. Being able to play multiplayer games with the villagers would be cool as well.
