its an evolution of levels or chapters, there doesnt need to be some start up screen anymore since the enemies and challenges you encounter like side quests, korok challenges, mini bosses or dungeons are all pretty similar to something like star levels like in the 3D mario line... There is no concrete objective or end goal though

Saving has literally never had bearing on punishing you for dying in Zelda. You always respawn at either the predetermined start point or dungeon entrance that you were in.

160 hours on my playthrough, literally 0 crashes. Unless the Switch version is that much worse, but anyone early adopting has only themselves to blame.

You're right it's worse because it saves before tough battles unlike Hyrule Warriors where you can get yourself into game-ending situations easily if you're not careful.

dying in zelda post-majora's mask is not possible outside of unplugging your controller in combat for 5 minutes or going into that 100 floor battle dungeon. auto-saving is like having prince of persia's time rewind with no depletion gauge.
