I thought about buying a nyckelharpa to learn how to play but the cheapeset I can find are $2200-3000 from websites look like they were made in the 90s and had guestbooks and webrings.

Not sure where to actually get one, especially here in the US. Would like a cheap "shitty" one so I can learn before I drop that much cash on a good one but I dont think that's a thing

Yep, even second hand ones are super rare because almost no one has them. Even used ones are 2k+

I see a couple used ones on Blocket, Swedish ebay/craigslist, for around $500-600. No clue if they ship internationally, though.
