E3? Probably not. monster hunter isn't really a big title, not many people buy systems for monhun, and not many copies sell despite people loving to say it's a top seller. It's a good series but it seems like something they'll throw in the closing montage with a passing mention in the conference or something, not something they'd give proper screentime.

No, Capcom has no reason to go back to sony.
Makes as much sense as Kamiya announcing DMC5 for some reason.

Monster Hunter would make me drop everything and buy a PS4 the second it was announced. That being said, I just can't imagine that Nintendo would ever let that game go. It sells well and moves units in Japan as well as having a small but staunch fanbase in the US. Sony would have to pay a massive amount more than Nintendo to pry away the franchise due to their lack of a viable portable system, which has been the preferred platform for monster hunter for a long time. It also defies logic for Sony to shell out for this game they feel the Horizon franchise fills the same niche to a small extent.

This doesn't necessarily mean MH is never coming to PS4, since the franchise could go multiplat after its upgrade to HD for the Switch. Otherwise I would consider the odds of seeing MH on the PS4 to be the same as seeing it on the Xbox One, which are slim even though both companies technically have the capital to purchase the franchise if they really wanted to.

with the kind of battle sony would have to fight with nintendo to get a game published on their system, it's reasonable to believe that sony will go out of their way to make the game a bigger deal than it is currently. also remember that a lot of sony's artsy and/or japanese games aren't really chart-toppers, but they advertise the shit out of those games to keep the fanbase happy and to make their console look more prestigious.

Seeing as how MHXX is slated for a switch release and MH Stories is coming to 3ds this fall(maybe it's winter I can't remember) I don't think we'll see it.

I really hope that Sonyfriends never EVER get a noon-Frontier MH title. I also hope that the western release of MHXX Switch is confirmed this E3.

I'd put money on it being announced at TGS, and I doubt it will be on PS4. Capcom develops this with Japanese fans in mind, not American, and I still think portability trumps a decent engine over there so my money is on Switch, even though PS4 would be so much better. Hope I'm wrong.

Alright, i get that making retarded delusional theories about MH5 on PS4 is basically a meme at this point but hear me out.
The new MvC has not been confirmed for the Switch as of now, yet the leaks imply that a Monster Hunter is playable in the game. I just don't see what Capcom would gain from putting a franchise that's exclusive to Nintendo systems in their crossover fighter geared towards westerners that isn't on Nintendo systems. I'm expecting to either see a new MH game on non-Nintendo systems or a Switch port for MvC:I at E3.
