Two of my minions were getting married, and a grizzly bear attacked the camp while everyone was attending.
The moment I noticed what was going on, the fucking thing was mauling the tame timber wolf, which was making a heroic stand.
The minions made quick work of the distracted bear once they got to the site, but only after the poor wolf had lost a rear leg and its tail.
I managed to save its life, though, and the bear has now been chopped up and made into kibble which should keep my hero wolf well fed for a while.

Decided to try out Rimsenal recently. I've been dicking around with the barrage cannons and their pretty fun, pic related is like the only survivor of a salvo onto a tribal base. Everyone else either died and had their body completely destroyed since each salvo is 10 missiles.

I don't remember seeing it in the patch notes, but I believe it's been fixed. I've harvested about 6 organs and installed 2 bionic parts with a level 13 doctor using herbal medicine and nothings gone wrong.

Could be fun but the combat system is so one dimensional. Its either melee or ranged but doing anything melee is retarded and guns are just thrown at you. The only other thing is grenades but thats just a check to see if you are using wood or some kind of metal for your buildings. They need to work on the combat.

The only difficulty that anyone can have is that shitty and random psi-events for your pjs. For instance, my group was perfect for 2 years, but suddendly one got crazy because LOL WHY NOT, and then started to kill everyone.

My last survivor was a scientist that spend +1y researching shit and eating all the food that was left.

im burned out on it but every game is great. My recent one i started with two 25 plus men and a 15 year old nudist, my colony went well until a plague wiped out all my crops, so i lost all the hay i needed for my cows. My most important medic died in a crossfire between me and raiders. And the two colonists after him were both abrasive and depressive, so they had breakdowns and social fights constantly. Theyre doing alright for now, playing rough on phoebe chillax, maybe a bit too easy i think.

It's ok. It doesn't change anything, it just adds more mid and late game factions and equipment. I'm using Jotunhime equipment meant to fight mechanoids, so it's fun repelling tribal raids with big fucking guns and mortars that destroy entire body parts in one shot but take a while to reload.

Rimworld has big promises but it fails to deliver for me.
The gameplay is very solid until it's not.
For one thing: you are supposed to play the whole game with no more than 4 colonists and researching anything will take forever so it's pretty much impossible to get to the "endgame" .

Even with 40 mods I'm finding myself disappointed, maybe I just wanted dwarf fortress

Yes, that's what water/lava looks like with "Depth" turned on in the options. You can turn it off so it looks more like actual water but then it gets hard to tell how deep it is without having to check each tile individually.

No, but most of the processing power in DF is used by unit pathfinding, temperature and fluid calculations. It's pretty toaster friendly if you know how some FPS-reducing workarounds.

Alternatively I like settling at the north or south pole, then get the event where an AI tells you theres a ship at the opposite end of the world so you journey across the land raiding, trading, and stealing supplies as you try to reach the ship.

what storyteller/difficulty do you niggers play on?

I've been watching this game from afar for quite a bit and I can't seem to want to try it. Colony building and management sounds fun, but this whole ''you endlessly fight robots'' endgame doesn't seem appealing. Am I mistaken?
