I beat Gehrman, Moon Presence, Mergo's Wet Nurse and Orphan of Kos on my first try.

I have never been so underwhelmed by final bosses in a souls game.

it's easy because it rewards aggressive tactics, and when you get used to that, it's stupidly simple to win, it's a lot less tactical than Souls in general, because if you /try/ to get tactical, the enemy rushes in and you die.

But if there are people who think that way, maybe it's because there's more to difficulty factors than whether or not you can use a shield.
In fact the majority of Dark Souls -fanbase on /v/ and /vg/ would seem to be the type to roll through everything and parry enemies instad of blocking hits with a shield.

Tanking is viable in 1 and trying to tank in Bloodborne is a pain in the ass without hyper armor some of the weapons have. It's not like you won't get knocked back if you don't move while attacking

Because you could play without a shield in the other games too and it was harder than BB.

Which makes sense, the only thing you wearing is a coat, no heavy armor in the game so not just you but hunters are as flexible. Yet Das3 has the same stamina cost despite everyone wearing large as armor

Not just armor, defenses in general and your base damage also scales with your BL. Not too bad, but annoying as fuck when you do low-lvl runs. Bosses take forever on BL4, even with a maxed-out weapon.

Whenever I invade in DaS3 and see someone with a shield that's meant for blocking, I just assume they're new to the game.

The doors from the second DLC are apparently pretty good though.

Nope, that doesn't change the fact that the bosses are slow, most weak to fire, multiple gimmick bosses, the least movesets for bosses in the entire souls series and then the final boss keeps trying to AOE himself that takes like 15 seconds and if you hit him he has to start again and he LOVES doing it. Plus broken shit like firestorm can kill off bosses in 5th world with one shots or any other boss in other worlds weak to fire. Then you got antimagic where once you have that and try to even replay the game bosses like idol bitch and man eaters becomes heavily trivialized and those mages in tower of latria are basically nothing to you. Not gonna take any argument for demon souls being anything but a cakewalk seriously
