I refuse to lower difficulty, but I haven't beat him yet.

LB + A is perfect when countering his fireball spam, but if you don't hit him he 1 shots you with his special attack

<-- + AB is good when he starts attacking with fists, but once he telleport spams or you misread a fireball, you're fucked

XY is great if far after sidestepping fireballs but if he closes the distance you are 1 shot by the special.

LB + B is a good quick counter if you block spam hit combo shit

Don't try and combo him, his 'No stun' turns on mid way through and he'll one shot you because his rage attack turns one whenever and is a one shot kill for no reason.

I beat him last night on unlockable level 10 difficulty (hardest in the entire game). It's not much different from level 1 (easiest). Got that sweet title.

Like the other anon said, keep doing CD3 over and over, use 1+2 and 3+4 lasers. When you're in his face, WAIT for him to attack and then punish it with an EWGF. 4:3 (u/f+4:3 has less delay) is also excellent as you cannot be launched and if you do take damage, then you're in face up position on the ground. If you have big cojones, then do a TP (DK's d/f+1,2, don't do regular Kaz's WS1,2 Twin Piston.)

I finally managed to beat Akuma on standard difficulty. Keep in mind I was only able to beat him by spamming EWGF with the shortcut menu and that Harada is the biggest fucking asshole for even making this fight in the first place. I personally never want to see this Akuma cunt in my Tekken ever again. My anger at this artificial difficulty gutter trash is dwarfed only by my disappointment in the story mode overall. If anyone can actually manage to beat this fuck on the highest difficulty setting, you deserve to get laid at the exact moment of victory because holy fucking shit you have the skills of a god.

All characters are unlocked from the get go, which seems to be the par since Tekken 6, which sucks from a single player perspective.

All outfits cost ingame money, whereas some special outfits have to be unlocked via Treasure Battle mode. You get chests for beating opponents. It's all completely random and there's so many character special outfits that it's pretty hard to get what you want, but there's no other way to do so.

Tournament mode, an online battle mode also rewards treasure chests for completing a tournament. You get chests whether you win the tournament or not.

What's your offline rank, chumps? I'm up to Divine Ruler (24 dan).

Is it possible to use guns and weapons to extend combos or did the devs make it impossible?

Going from a 2D fighter to a 3D fighter is about as easy as going from Smash to Street Fighter. Just thank god you didn't pick Virtua Fighter. I was in a similar boat, so let me give you some tips.

>3 types of hits: High, Medium, and Low. By standing completely still, you can blow High and Mediums and while crouching, you can block Lows while also avoiding most grabs.

>In the games you stated, a command is executed as Motion -> Button. In Tekken, the command is executed as Direction + Button at the same time.
>commands are queued, so you will input all the commands before the combo is actually finished. Like if your combo is (->+lk) (lk), you will press the second button either before or right as the first one ends.
>Don't be intimidated by the large move list. A pro can use all of these to their advantage, but you will have no problem if you can only remember/execute a few of them. The important part is winning the match
>Don't be ashamed of playing Eliza or Akuma. If you need a few matches to learn the basics through an easy bridge, then do it.

Other than that, you really just need to practice. Load up training mode, go to your command list, press Y to place the commands on screen, and keep going until you can at least execute every combo.
