Hey /v/,
So I just finished SoC vanilla and plan on playing through the next two games. My question is, should I mod them on the first playthrough? As much as I enjoyed SoC some of the base portions were ridiculously hard, sometimes to the point where I would quit for weeks at a time due to frustration. I am about to start Clear Sky and from what I've heard it's even more unfair than the first at times. So, should I continue doing vanilla first or mod it?

Don't mod on first playthrough

PATCHED vanillas are fine, as always, but in CS' case, I'd REALLY recommend using the entire Starter Pack to patch it up better. It still may not be perfectly smooth ride, but way better.
Here's the rookie guide once more.

I will check out the starter pack, thank you.
Second question: I played SoC on Master difficulty. Should I do the same with the subsequent games?
Use Sky Reclamation Project for Clear Sky. The same thing as ZRP for SoC, just fixes stuff and CS really needs that.
>Should I do the same with the subsequent games?
Sure.
You really need to patch/mod Clear Sky
It's a great game but holy shit it's infuriating when it bugs out which is almost every time
the first segment using only shotguns sucks but you can get an ak once you are out of the swamp

Yes, always.

with the latest patch, you START off with an AK as well. Low ammo though.
So sky reclamation project and master difficulty. Sounds good. Will CoP require modding as well or can I play it totally vanilla like SoC?

CoP was THE most tested and finetuned of all 3 games. I'm not joking when I say that its only real problem is that it can be very easy at times.
That being said, I'd throw in its Starter Pack on it as well, just to make those kinda fugly outdoor graphics more on-par with the previous two games. As in, less brown and misty.
