Does /v/ like racing games?
>>378984574
when the fuck is tourismo coming out
>>378984664
At the end of the year.I hope it's true.
>analog face buttons are long gone
>muh trigger buttons for acceleration and braking
what ruined racing games for me.
>>378985218
Typical NFS gamer.
>>378984574
Most wanted is the best racing game ever made.
>>378984574
That's not a racing game. That's a D-movie with interactive elements. Like those DVDs that used to have hidden games in the menus.
>>378985448
it was the default setup on every racing game until ps3/x360.
>>378985638
Yes and and game start to change with analog triggers. Today all serious racing games use analog triggers. Pressure sensitive buttons was a mistake, that's why Sony get rid of them.
>>378984574
only burnout 3 and burnout legend for psp
>>378985880
>need to pull triggers in 3/4 the way before it accelerates at all
>move finger 0.1cm and it has a difference
they wanted to save 30 cents on controllers
>>378986212
>>need to pull triggers in 3/4 the way before it accelerates at all
>>move finger 0.1cm and it has a difference
Stop your lies or play other racing games. Because I never notice such a thing.
>>378986401
load up any gt or forza you like and try it. triggers have a shit ton of dead movement before anything happens.
>>378986647
>triggers have a shit ton of dead movement before anything happens.
I spent hours in front of GT5 and GT6 and I know that it's totally false.
>>378986212
Theres usually a deadzone added in by default in the game's options and throttle linearity is bullshit
>>378984574
NFS is dead. Gran Autismo and Forza are better than NFS ever was. Haven't played Project Cars or Automobilista but I bet those are better than any NFS game after Most Wanted, since that isn't exactly hard to do.
Remember when racing games werefun?
>>378984664
Nobody, including the devs, knows this.
>>378987194
*when burnout
>>378987194
I'd love a game like this but with real cars
>>378987572
Real car manufacturers are pissy little bitches and don't like seeing their cars get destroyed.
Hell, Ferrari locks down their models and makes them red and unmodifiable on some games.
>>378984574
I feel like non-simulator racing games are getting "obsolete" because of games like GTA.
NFS right now it's just GTA with a more arcade driving but no walking around, and it really feels like they would love to make it a GTA game.
>>378988282
Any GTA-like game is dead without that branding these days.
Maybe they want to but I can't imagine it would go down all that well.
>>378988282
That's what Driver did and it fall into the abyss until they stop doing GTA-like and start doing true driver game (ie. Driver SF).
NFS Porsche and the OG NFS were the only good games in the series.
>>378988026
Are you for real? That's fucking hilarious, what bitches.
>>378987194
Yes.I hated it.
Waiting for Dirt.
>>378991573
>tfw I tried playing Dirt Rally with a controller
That was an ass whooping I wasn't expecting to get.
>>378990058
>the games with the most realistic handling were the the only good games in the series
why can't simfags just learn to relax and have fun once in a while
NFS has been shit ever since Carbon. Putting Criterion and their retarded spawn Ghost Games in charge was a mistake.Run was a good game but got gutted because of EA's instance on making them redo the whole game on Frostbite in record time
>>378993389
prostreet was a step down but still p good and hp2010 is unironically one of the best in the series
>>378984574
Arcade Racing but with a wheel
>>378993721
Why though?
>>378993389
>that spoiler
What? Source? I want to know badly
>>378998162
>Intriguingly, Need for Speed: The Run will be one of the first console titles to use DICE's cutting-edge Frostbite 2 engine. It has apparently taken a year to re-purpose the tech for driving rather than shooting, but according to designer Alex Grimbley (recently head-hunted from Codemasters where he oversaw the Grid and Dirt titles), it's been worth every moment. "Frostbite is awesome for quick iteration," he explains. "Previously, if a producer requested a change to a track, it would sometimes take a day for that change to get in the game and be playable. We can do it in minutes now. So rather than making one change to a track per day, we can get up to 30 changes in."

Right after Undercover (late 2008), they were already at task making the next NFS, in addition to finishing Skate 2 (and later 3). So they spend a whole year just getting Frostbite 2 to work for ~18 months to send it out for fall 2011.
>>378999501
I still find it hard to believe the people that made MW2005 were the same behind this crap.
The handling was fucked, the story made no sense whatsoever, andthe PC port was garbage.
