Most $0 budget indies like Risk of Rain, Hotline Miami, Binding of Isaac, Cave Story, Spelunky. They all have from mediocre to ugly art, are extremely simple, mini-game mobile tier and unengaging, and sometimes even broken, I remember Risk of Rain's controller support was fucked on release. They also play much worse than 2D games of the same genre from decades back, or just play like watered down rehashes of those games.

I started a new playthrough of DS1 a week ago. Heavy armour helped me immensely in Sen's fortress and blighttown.
