I still say Valve is either working on or looking to buy a division that can perfect "destructible environments" before they do any of the big "3"s (HL, portal, tf, L4D).

We honestly haven't had ~that~ big of a tech jump in the 2010's. ActionMMOs (opposed to tab targeting) have gotten better since TERA, but latency issues is still holding back the genre. Really wish the MMO aspect would be dropped and focus more on Co-Op.

If you worked for Valve 13 year ago you would be making history working on some of the most innovative projects of an era like HL2 (which is overrated shit but that's another story), Portal or Team Fortress 2
If you work at Valve now you probably approve hats for DOTA and make battlepasses, or maybe if you're lucky work in some VR shit or a game stuck in development hell like L4D 3.
