My buddy and I constantly focus on improving in whichever area we are falling behind the other. We started out roughly the same, but I started to dominate in anything that used legs and he outperformed me on pure upper body. We adjusted our routines and supplementary workouts to git gud at what the other guy did better and now we're pretty much balanced.

I have lifted with people that slowed me down though, and I'm usually okay with that if I know I wouldn't have worked out in the first place. Consistency is way more important than going super hard every time.

But who says a hobby has to be productive anyway? I play basketball at the rec center maybe two hours a week. The biggest thing I get from it is blowing off steam really. Just like video games.

You could say that it fosters team work and social interaction, but I learned how to interact in school decades ago. And it doesn't foster teamwork in general, just teaches you what you need to do to win at basketball.

I will grant you the PS3 as I am convinced from will one day port Demon's Souls forward, and Atlas will get us dragon's Crown to a new gen.

But Xbox huge has a completely un-emulated library. Which is annoying as it was THE BEST couch co-op machine period. Hunter the Reckoning, the best versions of the Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance games, and more. It also had the best Punisher game version and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness ran better on it than Ps2 (annoyingly the game has never been put on the PSN or XBlive networks).

There's other gems on that system like the Mech Assault games which while unbalanced were fun arcade mech games. I particularly enjoyed the second.

I don't really agree with this. I've played melee for a decade and I'm only somewhat competent in terms of high level play. I can smoke anyone off the street obviously, but there are thousands of people out there who are better than me, and they got that way by grinding.

It works with non-competitive games too. Take Mario Maker. There are people who are clearly better at making levels than other people and they got that way by making and playing a ton of levels.
