Does it make me mad? No. I learned to stop paying attention to it a long time ago, in the early 2000s, when online media became a thing, and BBS turned into forums that were readily available to talk about new releases with people. gamefaqs was a huge factor of many game purchases I made through gen 5 and 6. Traditional game journalism just stopped being relevant, immediately, at that point. They exist now solely because companies have started giving them more and more exclusive shit to look at, away from the public eye and hands, but even that's changing, most major game release events (IE, not E3, and not gamescom) have no bias to journalists. I'm some noname 1000 subscriber destiny youtube video maker, and I got an invite to the destiny 2 event, and got to package up my footage in any way I wanted.

It could be improved, but by the point it's actually improved, and a "total reset" for lack of a better term, had been applied, it would be so far gone that the internet will have taken it over ENTIRELY. It's already like 80% of the way there, traditional game journals/mags lost their opportunity, and the remaining stuff is coasting on the goodwill of developers for as long as it lasts.

Not really. I don't purposefully go out of my way to find articles that make me upset. The only sites I use are ones that are primarily news based rather than opinion/clickbait. What I don't get from them, I get from /v/.

Game journalism is absolute shit, but it's pretty easy to avoid. The only time I see retarded clickbait articles and biased opinion pieces are when people on /v/ post them to rile people up or make fun of them.

The biggest complaints I'm seeing is "lol bland dialogue", "lol boring character", and "lol mary sue".
I realize I can't expect any of you fuckers to firstly be literate and secondly have read the books, but if you had you'd realize Geralt gets his ass kicked constantly in the books whether it's by a powerful sorcerer like Vilgefortz or a shitty pack of ghouls. Even though Witcher 3's hot dad Geralt is a stud who kills higher vampires and sorcerers like they're regular jobbers, he can still die easily in combat if you handle an encounter poorly. The only reason why he seems like a mary sue is because he's the main character so of course they're going to give him some plot device bull shittery so he can even compete with the wild hunt. (Mind you, Letho and Geralt and a couple of other witchers canonically fought the wild hunt to a stalemate at the hanged man's tree.) His dialogue seems bland because he's an emotionless witcher, a killing machine. However, if you peer closer you see a character rich in development and human empathy which is where his biting sarcasm and wit come into play as well as his "goody two-shoes" attitude lying beneath the facade of a neutral killer-for-hire.

Geralt is actually a bleeding heart in his universe. Every time he says the mutagens destroyed his emotions or that the Witchers follow a strict code of neutrality he's absolutely bullshitting, both himself and others. The witchers have emotions and they frequently get caught up in shit because there is no "witcher's code" drilled into them.

That was one of the differences between the Witchers and the Super Mutants that the Master was producing in Witcher 1. One were just angsty mutants, and the other were hulking, mindless killing machines made of meat and swords.
