In Duel Links it is where the normal Deck size is about 20 cards, and you can have up to three of these guys. Mirror Wall and Enemy Controller are other overpowered cards.

They not only reprinted it, they decided to reprint it in a 2nd time in a series that Wizards decided will never stop being printed until it stops selling. The cost has dropped from hundreds of dollars to like 70$ and dropping.
The same goes for a lot of other modern cards.

Depends on the situation. In most cases it is better because you wouldn't want your enemy forcing a tap on your land to do damage to you, but there may be a case where having the land deal 1 damage to you is better than paying 1 life as a cost.

Blast through the deck as fast as possible. Go for asshat alchemist's wincon. Swinging for 30 damage with a slipped sentinel might win it sooner. Archfiend kills Ulamog.

If only 14 cards in the deck don't cycle, and you have enough draw effects to make it happen, then you can instant speed win. Discard lab maniac and unearth him at the last second. He just has to resolve.

I haven't actually really seen a version so heavily focused on cycling before so the inclusion of things like bloated toad over cards intended to let you mill or search more aggressively without worrying about dying caught me off guard too. I kionda like this version more though. Having alternate win conditions like creatures in place of more things to keep labman from being countered seems both more fun and reliable.

While I don't think MoO was originally the impetus for it's ban because of his level being really weird back in the day it was mainly just because the extra deck has always been really OP and cheesing creatures out of it was even more OP back in the day because they were meant to be relatively more powerful because they were really hard to get out.

But really, I was playing with my Red-Eyes Deck testing links and it doesn't change much for non-pendulum decks at all. You only need 3-4 Links in the Extra and pic related.
