Especially since you could see the same people if you just kept doing random dungeons all the time. So if the warlock in that story was actually decent, then I wouldn't be surprised if the tank remembered him.

I still remember a Tauren Warrior that I leveled up with, was in premade BGs with, and did world PvP with, despite never really interacting with them. There was this one human paladin on the realm Turalyon that was a bit of an infamous cunt. He did PvP all the time and people knew him because he was both good at it and enjoyed killing any Horde player that tried exploring the low level Alliance areas. I forget his name, but I always saw him around Dalaran during WotLK. Fought him once or twice and got my shit pushed in. I also tried to ride the boat from the second night elf area to somewhere else as a low level and he just kept on me.
