I'll admit having less heat moves was a bad decision but the combat in 6 is the best in the series easily

Yep. Game's not the best and the Subterranea makes you feel like dying at times from how long it is and how many times you have to repeat it, but it's fun and still has all the classic Yakuza silliness and minigames.

It feels awful in the demo so I can't imagine it gets any better in the main game. Your hits feel weaker even with a B-A rank in power, everyone can block mid-combo when you can maybe do it half the time if you're lucky, and everyone flies around like they're made of feathers if you kick them or hit them with anything. Hell, I haven't even played Ishin, 0, or Kiwami and the only time I felt like it was even nice is when you're literally doing a finishing hit because that has massive impact, or using certain weapon heat attacks like the katana or dagger because Kiryu stabs really deep.

Yeah, it feels a bit more freeform which is nice, but at the same time it feels like it's missing a ton of impact on all your attacks and you're better off just grabbing stuff off the street to fight your battles since enemies can't really block that stuff as easily as your punches.

Does that come way later? Most of the upgrade paths just looked like longer Ultimate Heat duration, the usual longer sway, longer sprinting, random moves to add onto your fighting like the usual sway punch, etc. Because the base Kiryu they hand you in the chapter 1 demo feels like you're hitting pillows but stabbing people.

I haven't played 2, but I liked the ending to it so much that I'm tempted to not bother with the entries that come after it apart from 0 and Kiwami. It saves me getting a PS3, too.

It's coming out in August. 6 is the one coming out next year.

Playing the old games is required and burning out is highly likely.

They need to start a fresh new story with no ties to the old.

Played through the first one. It was ok but, but I didn't get what all the hype was about. The combat was pretty monotonous and the random battles were annoying.

I gave the second one a shot as well because everyone insisted it was vastly improved from the first and the pinnacle of the series. It was the same shit with QTEs.

If "muh glorious nippon curture" isn't a selling point for you, these games really aren't that great.

Up until a couple months back only 5 was expensive. Dead Souls is still $9-16, 1 & 2 HD is like $50 new, Kenzan is $30 new (Not even the The Best version, the original), and 3 and 4 were originally only like $20-30 before that resupply happened to bump them up to $40.

Yeah, in Europe i paid 6€ for Dead Soul new. I was almost getting 3+4 for around 25$ used and I skipped the deal because I was getting out

Luckily I have a ps3 cfw, so I'm probably gonna get the jap version because they're much cheaper

Because it's not on PC.
