If you have a PS4, then Gundam VS is the proper 3D fightan.
If you don't, we've recently found a very similar Ontario Tangram-style game called Garrison: Archangel. There's a demo you can try out.

I'd say my top 5 are:
Master of Arena
Another Age
3
Last Raven
For Answer
>>
>>378947762
ZOE2 felt like it had the right ingredients but not enough crazy in its execution

>tfw people will never make an absolutely crazy version of the game
>>
For someone just starting out in the genre, having only played both ZOEs, where would I go from there?
I prefer PvE to PvP, although the option is always welcome, and I'm not too big a fan of fighting games
>>
>>378946686
AC 2 and another age
AC 3
For answer
Last raven, the toughest/best game imo.
Last raven might be one of the hardest games of any genre.
>>
>>378950926
Congratulations, man. Yu've played through ALL the available super-robot games.

Nothing more of the same exists. If you're willing to give up mobility, there's Omega Boost that's vaguely similar to them. Maybe Project Nimbus once it comes out.

Video games are simply dominated by the real-robo shit which there's loads of but none of it is really the same.

Armored Core. Personally I feel AC2 had the best aesthetics and single player campaign, but I've only actually played 2, 4, and For Answers so someone more versed in the franchise may be able to provide a stronger recommendation for which one would suit you

It feels like you're being sarcastic but I'm not sure
I'll give Omega Boost a look, though

Old Armored Core is just upgraded and fixed Mechwarrior. it really doesn't have much in terms of similarities with the Zone of Enders, even if it is a great series by itself.
>>
>>378943431
Armored Core 2
>>
>>378952138

Also Jehuty V2 > Naked Jehuty

It doesn't have to necessarily be games like ZOE, though. I just used it as a starting point of sorts
Just cool mech games would do
>>
>>378951987
>How's Armored Core?

Great, but entirely different game altogether.
Armored Core is a simulator series. You own a mercenary comapny, you take rather simple missions to go through.
You have to pay for repairs and ammo, you start with a shitty mech and almost no dosh, you'll have to build up yourself (or fail by yourself).
Creating the mechs is a really long and intricate process where you have to balance load weights, power outputs, power consumptions, heat generation, heat sinking capability, heat flushing capability, additional considerations for the mission at hand and so on.
The gameplay is also in the same vein, you have a ton of buttons, each with a useful command tied to it (it goes into triple button combinations, to give you a rough idea). You have to watch your heat, you energy, your ammo reserves while also dodging and fighting against uneven odds, dropping spent (ammo) or broken weapons, down to entire arms, shuffle weapons to use, et cetera.

Yes, it is a good game series but recommending them simply because you like ZoE is like recommending ArmA to s CoD player.
>>
>>378952748
Yeah, that's understandable, after all "mech games" isn't really a genre and more of a theme. But even then I like the idea and would like to go in deeper

It sounds like AC involves a lot of micromanagement, which could be cool, but how's the gameplay itself? Is it a shooter or some sort of tactical turn based game?
>>
>>378953575
It's basically a third person shooter with aerial movement. It's pretty cool but the learning curve is almost a vertical climb, figuring out how to build your mech is like hours of trial and error and then you have to learn to actually fight. It's intense.
>>
>>378953575
FAST tps

Start from the first and build your way up. Some are pretty boring like project phantasma but most are worth a playthrought and are relatively short.

Yes. PCSX2 can emulate all of the ps2 games with little issues as long as your computer isn't a ten year old toaster.

Super Robot Wars games.

>jap pros are so pro at armored core they can quickboost in a game without quickboosts
>>
>>378951987
Overrated. Gameplay tends to be pretty simplistic and late game comes down to cheesing AI movement patterns because of how movement and tracking works. Level design isn't great either, with only the 2 or 3 boss fights per game actually being any good. The only real positive I can say for the series is the customization is top notch.

It's the best PS1 game out there.

I have a PS3, which is the best mecha game I could get on here? I like Gundam Wing and G Gundam the most. Already own ZoE HD Collection. I'm fine with importing as long as the menus are in English.
>>
>>378961550
Gundam UC
Gundam EXVS
Armored Core 4/FA/V/VD
Gundam Side Stories
Gundam Battlefield Record
Gundam Breaker 2

Because your inability to dress Lin in a skimpy swimsuit totally dampers the Mecha aspect of the game, right?

Holy shit anon, that game was dope as fuck. The replay value on it is insane too, there's like 5 different branches you can take. Would definitely recommend this OP.
>>
>>378962098
Fuck you retard.
>>
Zone of the Enders 2 is probably the only mecha game I played I would recommend to others.

I like mecha myself so I enjoy ACE, SD Gundam G Gen, the PS2 Macross game and SRW games but they're mediocre at best. No one would stick around just for the gameplay or writing or anything that doesn't have to do with liking the mecha themselves.
>>
>>378963504
ZoE itself is mediocre. ACE2/3 are great though.
>>
Death Stranding
>>
>>378963504
I dunno. What really got me into mecha was SRW OG 1 and 2 on GBA. I only saw a bunch of mecha anime and played one or two AC before that and didn't though much of the genre.
