Always been Kid Icarus Uprising and that hasn't changed, I don't think a game's ever been more refreshing than that ever since its release.

Kid Icarus Uprising hands down

Shin Megami Tensei IV. Perfect balance between difficult but fair gameplay, and modern QoL improvements that make it a perfect handheld game (save anywhere, full quest log). There's 40+ hours of content including multiple endings. Huge amount of depth for a handheld game.

Honestly, Kid Icarus Uprising.

Perhaps the last game I played that was hard to put down because of how fun it was. The handcramps were a small price to pay, but it was totally worth it in the end.
