Even if that's a real issue and is settled, the group that were in charge of making the Sega 3D ports has stopped completely.

Damn shame too because most of them were fun as fuck. Gunstar Heroes 3D was something so amazing I never thought I'd see it happen.

Yeah probably. I have an intuition that if Sonic Mania does well enough they'll go through the litigation and legal work involved to give S3&K a remaster. The game is an undisputed classic at this point, and they'll do more than just break even so they have to do very little to justify it in my opinion.
