I thought SV was the worst personally. It plays smoother than EV for sure but it's mind-numbingly easy even compared to the other games and it was bloated as hell with 4 major campaigns.

Yeah, my local store (Grainger Games) had Estival Versus. I always pick up a Vita game from them whenever I'm nearby purely because I appreciate that they still stock them. At this point I'm pretty sure they only stock them for me, they don't seem to move otherwise.

The cancels in EV suck though, jump + dash is far worse and less fun than simply dashing mid combo to do another attack on another pile of enemies and then zipping away once they start retaliating. They also forbade you from doing it with a lot of attacks, the slow characters are a nightmare because of this since they want you to see a bunch of attacks through. Yomi, Yozakura, and even Katsuragi have problems where you have these really slow and long attack strings you can't get out of, and Naraku for example has the balls you have to wait to retract before you can even move. EV wanted you to pick your timing more when it came to attacks before spamming tons of ninja arts while SV at least let you use normal attacks much easier.

It's like Takaki and his crew hate normal combos or something so both SK2 and EV downplay it while just asking you to waste scrolls on ninja arts for buffs or attacks while giving anything stronger than a normal girl super armor. Yeah, you eventually learn and understand how to cheese the super armor, but it's really irritating in the starting levels because you deal garbage damage and can't spam ninja arts.
