Her dad died, her best friend moved away right afterwards and didn't bother to keep in touch, her mom got together with some asshole ex-soldier who rides her ass and slaps her about, and to top it all off the girl she's in love with disappeared without a trace. It's not difficult to see why she has trust and abandonment issues, along with a pattern of self-destructive behaviour. She created her tough bitch persona to mask the pain, but she's a sweet girl deep down.

Which is why sacrificing her at the end is the only logical choice. Even if she's your waifu, she wouldn't be able to live with the guilt of all those people dying to save her, including her mom. She'd blow her brains out before she was thirty after struggling with drugs, alcohol and depression for years.

You've got minutes to get the fuck out of the way if a tornado is headed your way, that's why basically everyone shelters in place during one, because, even if there's rotation, it might not touch down. That being said, I though 13 Reasons was a better story because it wasn't interactive and you, like all the characters involved, were having to deal with the ramifications of someone's pointless suicide whereas LiS gave you the opportunity to "fix it" at the end, however you interpreted it best each time something terrible happened.

She changes, which is what anyone would expect and anticipate in a coming of age teen drama. I really don't get you people who are incapable of realizing that people, particularly young people, are capable of change. It's like you'd rather pat yourself on the back for your moral astuteness than pay attention to a person.

I mean I get that people like that are annoying in reality, and you have to pick your fights. But the game is about friends, and generally your friends are worth fighting for. Chloe is not so bad that she is going to ruin Max or anyone else's life, she's just an insecure girl that acts out in ways that can be, and are, pretty easily fixed.
