Second game is an easy 10/10.

Play the second game and ignore the first. The first game was pretty bad and it build up to absolutely nothing you don't get told in the second game while the second game is by far better, one of the pinnacles of the mecha genre. First one sucks though.

ZOE1 came out at a time when just having 60fps and tight controls on a home console game was still impressive. It doesn't really hold up now. Thankfully it ends right around the time it starts wearing out its welcome.

ZOE2 is legit fantastic though.

The first game is alright. Short, so even if it's a bit eh, it's worth getting through. Second game is balls to the wall mecha goodness though, so definitely play it second or you'll never want to play the first.

Also, I'm well aware of Revoltech's spotty track record but that was largely coming from their older work. They've revamped their joints quite a bit a few years ago and everything they've put out since has actually been pretty damn solid. This includes the ZOE revos. I'd say they're a great bang for your buck if you're looking for cheaper ZOE figures but from what I've seen, prices have at least doubled on the aftermarket unless you get lucky. Glad I got them as soon as they released.

Yeah, I'm sure. I liked the little kid piloting the mech storyline, and the AI was adorable when talking with him.
1 was very repetitive with like 3-4 regular enemies, but it was not so bad.

I'm not a fan of 2's storyline so far, but again I suck at 2 for some reason even though it's an objectively better version of the same gameplay so I haven't gotten too far.
The MC's not very endearing and I don't give a shit about this pinkish haired chick.

Make use of the slam combos. Hitting enemies into walls does insane damage. Also as soon as you get the homing missile subweapon the game is basically easy mode
