Considering it outsold Zelda, not too much. Game was pretty fun to boot. Worth 20 bucks

It was a wanton amalgamation of countless Triple A tropes and mechanics that the developers spent no time on enhancing or making their own.
Doesn't help that the characters and story are so damn boring for the setting.

Considering that Zelda outsold it's console with it's limited stock.
The release of the game made it impossible to buy the game in any other way but digital on the Wii U.
While I couldn't find a single copy of Zelda within my tri-state area at the time. Horizon on the otherhand still liters the walls of every Walmart gamestop and barnes and nobles in my town and the next.

Zelda just never interested me. The world they showed seemed to have too much kiddie stuff that didn't feel enchanting or charming at all. Just flat out childish.

But i understand a lot of people have nostalgic feelings towards it etc. and it doesn't looke like a bad game either.

oh my bad, Breath of the Wild has surpassed 4 million sales by now and is still selling, whereas hzd still hasn't broken 3 million sales, and hzd is on a system with more than 4x the combined sales of all platforms breath of the wild is available on, and piracy for breath of the wild is easy as all fuck. you can pirate it easily on the wiiu and you can emulate it on the pc, both doable on day 1 too.

It tries to do many things and fails to accomplish even one
It tried to replace monster hunter but the combat it's too cumbersome and the monster AI leaves way to much to be desired
It tries to be the next open world of the generation but the environment feels like a poster,pretty but just for show
It's a shame really,I had very high expectations

It was a pretty mediocre game in my book. Couldn't give enough of a shit to play any further past Mother heart's destruction. Game bored me to tears. sent it back to my rental place and bought Nioh and Yakuza 0 instead.
