maybe the film released also had something to do about it
it was average too, imo it focused too much on the unnecessary village of poor fuckers that i failed to care about through and through, also it was made in that 3d engine that all 3d animes seem to be run through like ajin and knights of sidonia, which i guess makes sense from a budget/effort standpoint but it butchers any original artistic creativity by the artist, and that was one of the draws of blame for me, the dirty look of the manga is just not translated well into the anime.
