I don't think you understand just how bad the new White Mage mechanics are.

White Mages can "still heal" but the new mechanics encourage them to heal in the worst way possible.

As any White Mage if they'd rather cast Cure 1 every few seconds on the tank or cast Regen and then go do something else.

Their patch cycle is already quite rapid for an MMO. The average I typically see is 6 months in between patches, unless you're WoW and you delay patches to coincide with your competitors.

Here's the thing, PLD has quite a few exceptions to this if Halone is ever used, or if they Oath swap

Sheltron(using lv 60 values scaled to 70) restores 960 MP, Riot Blade restores 600 MP, and Oaths cost 600 MP.

This means for every Halone combo or Oath swap, you need to get a Sheltron hit, and you'll get about 2 per minute of continuous Sword Oath attacking. However, if you do get 2 Sheltrons per minute, you can afford 3 of those actions, Halone combo and/or Oath swaps.

This mechanic of "okay I actually can't purely channel DPS, but I don't really lose anything in my burst if I cover it with other resources" is brilliant and I hope DRK/WAR work the same way

We had it way better because that's all we had. If you look at patches for 2.x, we really only got a trial, the dungeons, and a raid. Now we have GS, TT, PotD, Aquapolis, PvP, Scrips, WT, the other Khloe, FC airships, Diadem, Hunts, Squadron, sightseeing, housing, 5x the gathering nodes in 1 hour fuckin windows, the Feast, housing/glamour related crafting recipes, Anima. There are a lot of avenues in which the game is expanding and they more or less run the same crew, at least that's what I believe. This being a vertical progression MMO, there's a ton of effort needed to make sure every system fits in without having the jank you'd see in stuff like Korean MMOs. Remember Desynthesis? Yeah. And then in 4.0, we have a new PvP mode, the Relic-specific zone which is essentially nu-Diadem.

So yeah, it's shit that they are doing less dungeons, but there's a reason why. If you wanna compare the value of 1 dungeon per patch vs new shit like PotD, I'd pick the new shit.

Leves are essentially repeatable quests that you can spam for exp. For battle classes, it's better to use FATEs (overworld content) or just the abundance of side quests to level up your first job. Enkindle also has a new trait that lowers it's CD every time you proc Ruin 4, which itself is procced by your pet. I actually think it's a nice way to add synergy between SMN and pet, even if the result is RNG shit. It's certainly much better than the old pet SpS buff.
