Is this game a definition of a cozy summer game?

I bought this game for 30 dollars at Megacon Orlando a week ago. Now that I have time to sit down and play it, I feel surprised at this long lost, twenty year old gem of 3D gameplay that Capcom managed to create at the time. The setting is pleasant and not threatening, and there's lots to explore at your own leisure. It really feels like sitting down and watching a Saturday morning cartoon with anime plot, but you really want to see how your good and bad characters interact in the next scene.
It's Megaman in 3D, and I'm glad to have it in my collection. Feels nice discovering as if it were new for the first time.

I thought it was unplayable garbage. Was I lied to?
OP, look for a game called Steambot Chronicles. It's for the PS2. That's what you're looking for.
You start as an amnesiac kid in a world where people pilot robots, but soon you'll see that you don't even need to bother with the main quest, there's a ton of stuff to do. The soundtrack is pretty good too, look it up on youtube.
What sucks is the bad framerate and loading times.

Tanky controls aside it was a solid game and it lived up to the Megaman title pretty well with the cool amount of weapons you could shove onto your arm, and the customization you could put onto your buster. I also enjoyed the story, as cheesy as it was. It dragged on a little too long for my tastes, but I could at least skip the cutscenes, so I was willing to tolerate it. it was nice that you could also do alot of stuff outside the main story, like sidequests, NPC interaction, a little worldbuilding, minigames, dungeon exploration, and the new difficulty modes unlocked after beating the game were okay, but I wish you could access them immediately, and I wish they didn't just change damage values or give enemies more HP, but for an early PS1 title I understand them not having the resources for that.
I feel like it went in a weird direction in Legends 2, but the gameplay was more polished, the performance was better, there was alot more content to interact with, and overall the only major disappointment was the cliff hanger.
It's not a perfect series. I completely understand if someone has issues with it. And even dedicated Megaman fans might consider it taking too many risks and branching out too much, which I think is a fair notion. I also find issue with some of its elements, like I think the story gets a little too intrusive at times, like they have to tell you what you should be discovering on your own. It's typical in alot of anime games where they consider the player some knuckle dragging moron who needs a tutorial in front of them. I wish it could've laid off a bit there. Still, it was a worthwhile risk that paid off.

It's not unplayable. But not really great
I played this game last year and finished in one month of casual playing doing some quests, finding hidden itens and even grinding some Zeny.
The game is an absolute GEM and the only thing you can talk trash about it's the controls that are not very easy to get on at first but with time it becames very natural.
Great soundtrack, fun and not overly dramatic story, great graphics, likeable characters and lots of option stuff to do.
