I'd say is alright, but getting a ~10 everywhere is kinda overkill. The decisions ingame have 0 consquences, the quests are rather uninspired so replaying the game becomes dull as fuck, the combat is super bad...


It has many, many flaws. It was a nice game, but Todd should've worked harder.

It's a great game, but worst in the main Elder Scrolls games ( As story and dialogues )

If you're an austistic RPfag like me who makes up little stories as he plays vidya, it's perfect.
If you like great stories, great gameplay and varied sidequests, you might wanna make better use of your time and money.
Guild quests are also the worst of all TES games. For example, the mage guild quest (Which isn't really the mage guild, just some magic school) is basically fetch quests in the same generic tombs as every other quest in the game and a few boss fights. You can do all of this without ever using magic, and once it's done you become the archmage of the school. Without having learned jackshit besides a shield spell at the beggining of the quest.

If you're rushing through an Elder Scrolls game to get to another game, you'll miss the point. You're not going anywhere for a while in Morrowind or Oblivion. You're there to stay for a while, watch the crisis boiling up, and then work out salvation for everyone.

I don't think you realize how bad some of the old ES games are. If you're talking just the latest 3 (not online), Skyrim has better combat and fatigue mechanics than Morrowind, and subjectively better dialogue.

In Skyrim, for example, when you talk to Ragovidh, he'll tell you in a line or two "I live up on the hill. I work in the stables. It's a hard life, but a good one."

In Morrowind, you talk to Radhvar and you'll get a 3 page exposition -- which isn't necessarily a bad thing, until you talk to Ogreg and get the exact same 3 page exposition of HIS life. Funny, because one town over, you talked to Malfred and got the same 3 page exposition....

I like it, sure it's the weakest Elder Scrolls game but it was good enough to get a couple hundred hours of gameplay out of me and enjoy it most of that time

I like it, but I hate that it gets so praised when it's so simple in comparison to it's predecessors.

In all fairness my issues can be fixed in modding, but it shouldn't be a requirement for the community to make a game good, you know?

Magic was better in Skyrim than any Bethesda game before it, even if I had to mod in a proper spell creator.
