While I liked it as a whole, Wrath was the point where all the things introduced in TBC that were originally designed to balance high end content started to be more and more watered down.

Welfare epics became less a way to make the transition from dungeon to raid easier, and more a way to replace dungeons.
Heroics became less a bridge to Raids and more a badge faceroll.
Areas dedicated to flying mounts, made to offset the way exploration would be inevitably hamstrung, were practically nonexistant, replaced instead by just making late game areas impossible to traverse without them.
Ulduar and Icecrown were the only two raids that were thematically linked to the rest of the game. Coincidentally they were also the only two non recycled raids that were good.

Fortunately, Wrath had good quests going for it.

You can thank Ubisoft for that one.

Just for clarity, apparently the problem was identified. The game (for some reason) attempts to load your entire PSN friendslist every time the game starts up. It does this all in the background. I'm not sure why it does this so poorly (chalk it up to bad programming at Ubisoft) but once it finally has it all loaded, the game does run fine. That specific problem is apparently exclusive to PS4, although nobody has an Xbone so hardly anyone noticed that the Xbone version ran fine.
