At this point, I don't think it's really any merit to pay any heed to people who post hyperbolic statements with nothing else. The levels are massive and encourage exploration. It's a huge step up from the linear bullshit most AAA shooter pull out nowadays.
Weapons were among D44M's biggest flaws in the sense that some, like the pump gun, were underpowered as time went on. other than that, they were fantastic. If you're complaining that this isn't BF4 with 900 weapons with only the slightest nuances between them however, tough luck.
The enemies were just fine. Imps alone had various tactics, either charging you, hanging back to pelt you with fireballs, or alternating between both. Enemies lead their shots according to how fast you're going. On top of the imps, every enemy has a role: Hell knights are melee attackers that hound you and keep you form strong-pointing. Barons are similar, but also shoot projectiles, making them a threat at all ranges. Summoners make themselves a priority with their constant re population of the battlefield.
