Persona 3. Only little bitches who never used the "Tactics" command complained about the combat in P3, or they got stuck on Sleeping Table.

I think the series improved in some ways and regressed in others. Character depth really took a hit with P4 (oh you have fucked up psychological issues? let's attack them with violence until you are willing to sort-of half-admit you're fucked up, and we slap a bandaid on these insecurities and never mention them again), but P5 pretty much abandons the concept of your teammates having any depth to them at all. Futaba is the only character who has depth, since her dungeon is the closest to a P4-style "confront this character's deepest fears" dungeon.

3 felt closer to a Smt game and had the more interesting storyline.

Story is P3, gameplay is P4.

My issue with P3 is not that you cant control your party, but its that you need to scan enemies and bosses even though bosses dont reveal aything. Party members will learn through the battle what moves work and dont, but if you just scan even if it doesnt reveal anything theyll magically get that knowledge.

Why the fuck did we get Kaguya as DLC and not Apollo, the postersona for P2?

My favorite is P3 but P4 has much better pacing, especially if you include Golden content. 3 had too many months of nothing happening.

The whole " I have severe issues" was really only a thing in Persona 3. Persona 1 depending on which route you take, only has one person with issues that had to be addressed. Persona 2 only Lisa had issues since she was a slut who took drugs because she was depressed about not being a nip

Both are great. SMT is good too.

In terms of overall character interaction, presentation, and gameplay, 4 is better. The only people who prefer 3 is because they think it's pseudo deep plot and the fact that someone dies makes it better

Tatsuya and his buddies absolutely had personal issues and depth. Eikichi's attitude was mostly a front, Lisa is as you said, and Maya wasn't 100% sunshine herself either. Ulala had her share of personal problems, too.

Although to be fair, in P1 and P2 you had to follow a guide to even see most of the scenes that gave them depth. So much of the early games can be missed without a guide.

4. The characters are shallow but at least aren't bland and entirely one note like in 3. Gameplay is also better. Besides, who doesn't love Chad Ziodynecock?

Questionable. Most of P3's links are pretty boring and inconsequential. MC only exists as a soundboard for someone else to rant at, and there's no real way to friendzone romances.

It really shows how much of a "first try" this was, especially when you can see how improved FeMC's links are compared to MC's.

Tactics are still there, they're under the same menu where you swap party members. Found out when I pressed R1 by accident.

P4 has bosses after you beat a dungeon that spawn and they drop good equipment.

You can do the same thing in P4G with splitting up the group.

I always say 3 for having the most enemy types/mini bosses. Fighting three level 98 shadows was always fun, and makes fusing max level personas not pointless.
