SFV released too soon, USF4 tech was being found left and right. Capcom forced SFV out and threatened to pull funding/adverts from TO''s events if they host USF4 events to artificially inflate SFV's numbers.

SFV shitted on the veteran players by dumbing down the game significantly and reducing the entire game to be centered around knockdowns and meaties, they said they were going to try and reduce vortex and setplay shenanigans and instead they turned SFV into Setplay fighter V.

They shitted on the casual audience by not including Arcade and Story mode because there is a large group of autists who buy fighting games for the story mode (lol?) as seen by MK9, MKX, and Injustice 2's success. Despite being shit video games those games got a free pass because of their long ass story mode.

SFV doesn't have depth and technical play to appease veterans

I imagine Tekken is still the same fucking game except with supers now. Whoopdifuckingdoo, SCV added them too and it made the game better. I've never been a fan of the RAGE mechanic but that's been in the series for 3 games now, so it's expected. It's still kinda shitty that a 5% HP akuma could take you 100%-0% in one combo tho

it's not up to him, that's up to namco, they killed it by interfering heavily with SC5, chopping the poor director's budget, leaving him less time to do what he actually wanted.

SC5 was supposed to have a lot more features, characters and story stuff. His deadline was reeled in closer and his budget was chopped. it is 100% namco's fault SC is dead. and frankly we are facing an oversaturation of fighting games this year already.

I'm honestly wondering how they can even salvage the lore for SC6, the timeskip already strains most of the returning cast heavily in terms of "good reasons why they are still around or haven't visibly aged", they can only use "magic accident" or "vampire" so many times.

Then why the fuck are they playing fighting games? All fighting games are just above rolling dice or playing cards in terms of randomness with how everything you do is just a guess. Try to sound cool and call them "reads" but it's still just a fucking guess. Most actions in fighting games are faster than one tenth of a second. Few things are slow enough for anyone to react to, especially with all that input lag, you only guess what's coming.

Well that was because back in 3S days, the devs didn't want to just keep using the same characters over and over. SCV and MKX also faced this problem.

MKX tried to lead some oldies toward 'retirement' which nobody liked so they gave up on implying that anyone aged or moved on in MKverse.

SCV wanted to let some of the oldies die or age out of the roster so that new characters could take over their movesets, which also got badly received.

Invincible backdash gone, no Focus Attack, less OS trickery, DPs have less invinvibility and some have none at all, etc.

Even if you put those all in SFV would still be less defensive than SFIV because SFV has a lot of fucking attacks that are positive on block, zoning has way more startup/recovery with less damage, normals have less range and damage, grey damage with normals, more input lag, and everyone is designed to get in and pressure for damage

That's why you make it more punishable. They already did that by making catching backdashes count as a counter hit, which would have been enough to make it an appropriately risky, but rewarding, play. Now there's no reason to backdash whatsoever except for shimmyshit

Like how is luck and skill at all related? They never explain, because they're not related. You can be "skilled" at rolling dice (i.e. you can be good at cheating) but if you were so skill as to roll a 7 every single time "luck" would be a complete non-factor. If you just tossed it with no skill then it would be 100% luck. Luck and skill are totally opposite. The more skilled at something the less luck plays a factors and vice versa.
