I think it would be an improvement overall anyway. DMC is already appealing to me, but adding exploration to it would make it that much better for me. They should perhaps have a setting that just tells you where to go though for people that don't want the exploration.

Major Unannounced Title might as well be speculated Monster Hunter for PS4. PS Experience is really the final time, since Itsuno is going to announce a new game this year. Announcing in December could mean Summer 2018 release.

I think a good Metroidvania style would be needing to beat the shit out of statues in your way with a new weapon, unlocking a double jump to reach higher places, or other things. Make the abilities and weapons you get give you access to the new areas, it would work well.

Because Itsuno's new game hasn't been announced yet and his last game was DMC4SE. Which was a re-release of an almost decade old game, and the old devs went back and added brand new playable characters.

IMO DD2 seems even less likely than DMC5 if you ask me.

They already support DDO with new content and the remaster of DD:DA for PS4/Xbone is the thing they decided to slap the "Dragon's Dogma 5th anniversary" to. Why would you put it on that if you got a DD2 announcement coming this year?

I think if a new DMC is to succeed it needs to shake things up a bit, it's pretty ironic that for how different DmC was in presentation the game design was playing it very safe.

Hardcore fans will no doubt be back no matter what, but I think to catch a larger audience they need to change stuff surrounding the combat mechanics, it can't be another DMC4. Like others have said a more metroidvania style is not a bad idea.
