Conquest wasn't even supposed to be made but they overdesigned the villains and thought they can make a quick buck by making another route

There was no logical reason to go back to Nohr after finding out your backstory, sure your mom died but why would you go back to that place where they stuck you in a tower while your """siblings""" lived in another castle and only paid you a visit

If your foster family there took the piss, they didn't really respect you enough to make a decision

Now they made a fatal mistake by not making the Hoshido side your actual siblings, it cheapens the route since they force you to join them in Conquest but you're not really related to them

Corrin should be in Hinoka/Takumi's spot, if you picked dude Corrin you get Hinoka and if you picked female Corrin you get Takumi

Nothing really, other than the horrid story, the games are pretty fun and I really enjoyed them a lot.
Not much to say other than that really, this must be how discussing a game to death feels like.

I know that story is second place to gameplay, but something about this game just left a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe I got my hopes too high or maybe it's sunken cost fallacy since I pirated the fan translation, but the overall presentation of the game felt almost insulting. They have such good premise and ideas here but to see them squandered like it was in Fates was painful. My castle amounted to nothing. People having their own powers like your maids controlling ice, you being not only half dragon, but the spawn of the big bad, Aqua being able to control water that's never brought up again outside of her dance, all of it.

They hired a writer, but never gave them any direction or indication that the story should be capable of handling player direction. The story they got was massive, far too much for a game, and far too structured to work as a game. So a bunch of non-writers butchered it apart and tried to put it back together, clearly never understanding what made the original story work or what the important parts were. Shin Kibayashi is credited as one of the lead writers for Fire Emblem Fates. He's written manga, books, and apparently even screenwriting, so he's not some bum they just picked up off the streets. As for the rest (Nintendo butchering it and putting it together poorly) that's mostly the hearsay I've run across, but it certainly makes the most sense. Nintendo has not exactly shown the best writing skills, and we heard some fairly similar tales of N fucking up the story in Other M. I'm inclined to believe it.

As for Treehouse, there's ample proof towards that one.
